e9collector, an extension of ESRI’s ArcView 3.x, is designed for counties and states who are faced with the challenge of building GIS data layers from scratch, or for counties and states who are tasked with the job of improving and maintaining an existing data set (e.g., road centerlines, building points, addresses, landmarks, fire hydrants, telephone booths, etc.).
New data collected in the field can be zipped up with one button click and the entire zip file, and associated digital photographs, can be seamlessly updated into the master data set.
- e9collector is integrated with real-time GPS and a "live" map display depicting the location of the data collection vehicle as it navigates throughout the collection area. This provides the field technician with the necessary information to accurately and effectively map GIS features "on-the-fly" in the field.
- For counties and states that are also generating new addresses, e9collector assists in matching the GIS site layer to the ALI database.
