Human Resources Generalist – IT Experienced

Position Summary:
microDATA,
a 9-1-1 software solutions company, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Human Resource Generalist to perform all necessary HR duties, including recruiting, for our Denver office.
Experience with IT recruiting is essential. As a 9-1-1 Technology Company, microDATA seeks the best support technicians, installers, trainers, developers, sales team and administrative staff available in the country. Recruiting responsibilities include selection and hiring of personnel who will successfully meet those needs and all tasks associated with that goal.
The appropriate candidate should possess a strong knowledge of all federal and state employment rules and regulations and possess exemplary writing and training skills, as well as strong organizational skills. The perfect candidate must also have experience with payroll, employee reviews, training, presentations, management and research.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Business Administration with Human Resource concentration
- A minimum of 5 years working in the HR environment
- Technology background, including college courses and workshops; telephony a plus
- Strong Computer skills, including expert knowledge of MS Office, Visio, Illustrator, PowerPoint and HR software, ADP payroll software
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) plus superior organizational skills
- Ability to monitor company policy and benefits
- Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding reporting and employee issues
- Thorough knowledge of all laws affecting Human Resource administration
- Knowledge of laws governing hiring and firing with a clear understanding of all federal and state law requirements
- Ability to understand Company policy and assure it is carefully adhered to
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong experience with supervisory responsibilities and manager training
- Ability to plan educational training
- Understanding of employee review process
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Accounting Experience
- Practice knowledge of ADP payroll system
- Available to travel, as needed
- Live within 45 minutes of the Denver office
Responsibilities:
- Assure that the Board of Directors is kept abreast of all employee activity, related expenditures and concerns in the Human Resource department through regular reporting
- Update and administer company policy, including technology policy and manager handbooks
- Conduct training sessions for managers
- Liaison between home office and satellite offices
- Maintain employee files
- Conduct annual employee review process
- Oversee payroll administration and other HR tasks assigned to others
- Maintain pay and job classification structure
- Cultivate long-term staffing strategies to assure retaining staff
- Prepare grant applications for training and other employee programs available from the state or federal government
- Research best benefits and compare options, including health insurance, workers compensation insurance, unemployment insurance, retirement plans and other benefits on an annual basis
- Monitor wage and salary issues, such as minimum wage
- Research nationwide and statewide salary ranges and match appropriate salaries to positions
- Travel for recruiting and other projects
- Design office workspace and make changes as necessary
- Distribute and record company keys
- Organize and lead company meetings
- Implement programs for employee educational training, as well as safety, health and motivation
- Utilize computer skills, including MS Office, Visio, Illustrator, PowerPoint and other tools to prepare job ads, track recruits and communicate with internal staff, advertising media and candidates
- Work with managers to write job descriptions for all positions and assure that staff receives them
- Perform all recruiting and hiring responsibilities:
- Review staffing needs and identify positions that meet those needs
- Prepare & update organizational charts regularly for the Board of Directors
- Identify the best sources for ad placements utilizing a variety of media and other innovative sources to attract qualified candidates
- Develop relationships with other sources for recruiting
- Contract for job ad blocks and time, as appropriate
- Post jobs, review resumes, schedule interviews, administer candidate tests/assessments, check references, perform background checks and hire qualified candidates
- Recruit for contractors, such as professional services, janitors and craftsmen, as needed
- Prepare paperwork for new hires, including employment agreements, non disclosures, non competes, as well as orientation materials
- Plan appropriate location, equipment and other needs for new employees and assure that the workspace is ready prior to start date
- Perform all recruitment record keeping, as required by law, and as needed by the Company
- Work with General Counsel to assure company policy is appropriate, and government rules are carefully followed
- Other special projects and tasks as assigned
