- Install 9-1-1 systems
- Support microDATA's software products at client's location
- Support staff and monitor servers in-house
- Perform software testing
- Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions for hardware, network and software
- Provide onsite training to clients
- Evaluate and Recommend internal and external security measures
REQUIREMENTS:

IT Trainer and Support Technician
LOCATION:
Denver Area, Colorado
POSITION SUMMARY:
microDATA, a 9-1-1 software solutions company, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced IT Trainer/Support Technician to perform software training, as well as assisting Technical Services.
Experience with hardware and software support and training is essential. As a 9-1-1 Technology Company, microDATA seeks the best technology staff available in the country. Requirements include at least 3 years experience installing hardware and software and training, excellent communication skills, and a college degree in a related field. Frequent travel is required.
As an IT Trainer and Support Technician, the goals are to: 1) increase customer satisfaction; 2) promote customer retention; and, 3) reduce customer dependency on Technical Support.
The ideal candidate must be professional and organized with the skills to prepare guidelines and instructional materials. Strong verbal and writing skills are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science or associated field
- A minimum of 3 years working in an IT environment
- Previous Dispatch/Call Taker or public safety experience highly desirable
- Strong Computer skills, including expert knowledge of MS Office
- Superior organizational skills
- Experience working with PCs and software installations
- Training Experience
- Detail oriented
- Expert knowledge of MS Windows/Vista, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing and other communication skills
- Microsoft and CISCO certifications a plus
- Live within 45 minutes of the Denver office

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Technical Services with staging, initial configuration, installation and support
- Provide training to internal clients, personnel and business partners on topics including software installation and configuration, end user, train-the-trainer, and support functions. Training is delivered in several formats including instructor led, conference calls and web based programs
- Create and maintain various printed training material including manuals, Quick Reference Cards and Training Bulletins.
- Conduct workflow analysis to determine a customer’s specific training needs
- Interface with other departments including Project Management, Technical Services and Quality Assurance to keep abreast of new developments
- Customize customer training based on workflow analysis, including creating new hands-on labs
- Maintain and deliver the new hire training program, supporting the development of new employees
- Post installation and training, answer customer inquiries regarding functionality and usage of microDATA products
- Assure customers will be successful in the on-going use of microDATA products
- Perform software testing and recommend enhancements

Database Administrator - SQL Server (Senior Position)
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Senior SQL Server DBA is responsible for maintaining both internal and external SQL Server 2005/2008 including configuration, maintenance plans and performance tuning. Must be extremely knowledgeable with replication (Transactional and P2P) and highly available systems. The Senior SQL DBA will work tightly with development in helping to create software with SQL Server. Participates in project planning and configuration of SQL services in both deployed and production customer facing and internal environments. Provides SQL training as needed.
ESSENTIALl FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure, patch, test, monitor, and support all MS SQL Server database instances, keeps the MS SQL databases at current release and maintenance levels;
- Responsible for setting up replication and maintaining replication for all clients;
- Lead performance monitoring and fine tuning of the system for optimal performance and proactively planning and managing all aspects of the database;
- Work closely with development group on logical database design to support new and existing application development;
- Assist in the development and implementation of standards and procedures for schema and query design;
- Work closely with development in writing reporting applications and scheduling reporting and data jobs ...ensure reporting availability;
- Monitoring client databases and provide feedback to development for optimization;
- Plan and implement the synchronization of data across several development, testing and production environments;
- Evaluate the merits/ benefits of available system upgrades and enhancements.
- Ability to manage and mentor junior DBAs while also contributing personally to day to day tasks and longer term strategic projects;
- Expert level query writing and tuning skills
- Assist the TSG Manager, as needed for various other projects, as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- SQL Server Reporting Services 2005/2008
- Configuring and maintaining instances of ArcSDE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and leadership principles;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to independently make accurate and timely decisions;
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
- Excellent level query writing and tuning skills;
- A minimum of 7 years working with SQL Databases;
- Seven years field experience of working in a distributed Database environment may be substituted for the MCDBA certification;
- Experience and working knowledge of SQL analysis products;
- Training experience a plus.

microDATA is seeking a Technical Writer with strong documentation and Robohelp skills to join our Documentation Team. The Technical Writer will gather and analyze material necessary to write software specifications, notes and drawings, manuals, user guides, online documentation, help files, and other documents to explain clearly and concisely the installation, operation and maintenance of our software.
Responsbilities:
- Gather and analyze technical information and develop clear and concise technical documentation for 9-1-1 mapping software including: software specifications, notes and drawings, manuals, user guides, online documentation, help files, and other documents
- Develop strategies that assure new functions are updated in existing documentation.
- Convert documentation into Adobe Acrobat format (PDF)
- Update web site with PDFs for download of new manuals, documentation and SOPs.
- Build PowerPoint presentations
- Document Technical Design of systems
- Work with Developers and Analysts on the understanding of defined requirements
- Support training staff in building custom documentation to assist in training efforts
Qualifications:
- Expert skills in Adobe Frame, RoboHelp, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other visual tools
- Knowledge of XML
- Must be quality conscious and result oriented
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of technical writing experience in a technical industry.
- Capable of learning new software solutions quickly
- Experience in writing Doc Plan
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
