ROCHESTER
, NY – March 28, 2006 – Pictometry International Corp., the worldwide leader in digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software, announced today the general availability of the Pictometry® Viewer ActiveX control. The control enables third-party software vendors and system integrators to embed Pictometry's oblique imagery and analytical tools directly into end user applications.

Using Pictometry's ActiveX control, third-party software companies can now integrate their own customized version of Pictometry's software tools, similar to Pictometry's own Electronic Field Study™ (EFS) software without having to leave their native application environment. This gives users access to Pictometry's software functionality in a third-party application.

The company has been working with numerous technologies and business partners to test, implement, and deploy its ActiveX control in other geospatial related systems. One of the first set of solutions where Pictometry has successfully integrated its ActiveX control is in ESRI's suite of GIS products that include ArcIMS and ArcGIS.

Using Pictometry's ActiveX control, microDATA, Inc. based in St. Johnsbury , VT is now able to offer its 9-1-1 customers the power of Pictometry technology directly from their microDATA software. "Pictometry's ActiveX solution allowed for a very straightforward integration with our dynamic 9-1-1 call handling and mapping systems," said microDATA Vice President Christine McMullen. "This enables us to bring an incredibly powerful, life-saving tool to call takers and emergency dispatchers. Now they can see multiple, simultaneous images of the incident site and prepare the responders for any, otherwise hidden, dangers."

Sample screen capture images of Pictometry technology in ESRI and microDATA solutions can be viewed at www.pictometry.com/pressrelease/activex.asp. Companies that are interested in partnering with Pictometry and using its Active X control can contact Pictometry Vice President Scott Sherwood .

Pictometry's industry leading software enables users to easily access up to 12 different oblique (3D-like, at an angle) views of any property, building, highway, or other feature in an area. The software also enables users to obtain measurements such as distance, height, elevation, and area directly from the oblique imagery. Future releases of the ActiveX control are planned to allow the overlay of GIS layers and insert other data within the ActiveX viewer.

Frank Giuffrida, senior vice president of engineering at Pictometry said, "This is a natural progression of Pictometry's software technology. It seamlessly enables users of other software to see, measure, and navigate on Pictometry's oblique data set. This allows them to utilize Pictometry data in an application environment that the end user is already familiar with. It's a great way for other companies to introduce the power of the Pictometry experience to their customers in a manner that complements their own systems."
